On December 5th, Rahob Rinpoche visited the Wisdom office in Somerville for a Tibetan lunch. Rinpoche was recognized as an incarnation of the Jamyang Drupbai Wangmo, the head lama of Rahob Monastery, in the Tsang-ta area of Eastern Tibet. Rahob Rinpoche completed his formal education at Drepung Monastery in Lhasa before moving to the Varanasi Sanskrit University in India, and later taught at Harvard Divinity School, Tufts University, and the University of Massachusetts. Rinpoche has also spent an extensive period of time studying the Theravadin traditions in Thailand and Zen and Shingon in Japan.
The Wisdom staff was so grateful for the visit of Rahob Rinpoche, and highly commends him for his tireless work in both America and Tibet.
